Suffering

Why is there suffering? You might ask that questions when you hear of hurricanes, mudslides, earthquakes, and other disasters taking people lives. Just like here in Philippines every year is suffering different kinds of calamities. And you asked again why is there so much pain in God's world? Consider these reasons:

1. We can't escape the laws that governs our universe.
2. We are a social race.
3. Sin brought a curse on the earth and its people.
4. Suffering awakens compassion.

God's world is a fallen place. When we see suffering, we can use it as an opportunity to serve God by helping others, to trust Him in spite of the difficulty and to grow in our faith in Him. When trouble hits, let our first reaction be to trust the Lord and care for the needs of others.

Always Awake

A mother and her 4 years old daughter were preparing for bed. The child was afraid of the dark and when the lights turned off, the girl noticed the moon shining through the window. The girl asked her mommy "is that GOD"S light up there?" "yes it is" came the reply. Another question from the girl "will HE put it out and go to sleep too?" "no my girl HE never goes to sleep" and after a few moments the little girl said. "as long as GOD is awake, I'm not scared." Realizing that the LORD would be watching over her and the reassured child fell into a peaceful sleep.

If you have trouble in getting to sleep try resting in the LORD.
